Terms of service for using Urban Khata

1. Acceptance of the Agreement

This document serves as a comprehensive legal contract between you (the "User") and Urban Khata (operated by DBS Solutions Private Limited). By downloading, installing, or utilizing our bookkeeping application, you explicitly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these stipulations. If you do not agree with any part of this contract, you must immediately discontinue the use of our services and uninstall the application.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

  • Legal Capacity: Access to our services is strictly limited to individuals who have attained the age of majority (18 years) and are legally capable of entering into binding contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  • Account Integrity: To access the full features of Urban Khata, you must register an account using accurate and current information. You are strictly prohibited from creating accounts using false identities or on behalf of others without authorization.

3. User Conduct and Security

Credential Responsibility: You bear full responsibility for safeguarding your login credentials, including your password and OTPs. Any activity occurring under your account is deemed to be authorized by you.

Prohibited Activities: You agree not to misuse the platform. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attempting to disrupt the server infrastructure or network.
  • Using the app for money laundering or illegal financial tracking.
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the source code.
  • Harassing other users or uploading malicious code.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

  • Platform Ownership: All rights, titles, and interests in the Urban Khata application, including its visual interface, software code, proprietary algorithms, and trademarks, remain the exclusive property of DBS Solutions Private Limited.
  • License Grant: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the application solely for your personal financial record-keeping.
  • User Content: You retain ownership of the financial data and entries you input into the app. However, you grant us a license to store and process this data to provide the service to you.

5. Service Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  • "As-Is" Provision: The Urban Khata service is provided on an "as-is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
  • No Financial Advice: This application is a tool for recording and tracking finances. It does not constitute professional financial, tax, or legal advice.
  • Liability Cap: To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss or financial loss resulting from your use or inability to use the application.

6. Modifications and Termination

  • Right to Modify: We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
  • Termination: We may suspend or terminate your access to the service immediately, without prior notice, if we determine that you have violated these terms or engaged in illegal activity.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
